December 23, 2007

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I think a lot of people feel this way. I love the cool air, a warm fire, and the jingle bells our dogs wear on their collars. Time with family always seems more valuable than ever and I love every moment of being together. I hope you feel the same and that your Christmas is blessed with love and warmth this year. Merry Christmas!

Changes are happening everywhere. This weekend kicks off our official start to home renovations, part II. Sure we have painted some rooms, hallways, doors, etc. but now is where the fun begins. We have been waiting a while to pick out carpet for our three bedrooms and finally, in just a few weeks it will be going down. Huge victory for us as Jared and I hate making decisions on things like carpet. Regardless, we will finally be able to decorate our master bedroom and work on our master bath. Here are some things that are inspiring us. Check back soon for updates on how the projects are going.

Bedroom Inspiration

We are using this as inspiration for wall color and furniture color.

Bathroom

This makes me so excited. We are going to be working with this idea in our master bath. The bathroom is very tiny (the one we have, not the one in the picture) so we want to make it look as elegant as possible. I love this picture.

Off to the paint store we go!

a new challenge

Jared and I have been enjoying goodies from the Baton Rouge Farmers Market for the last few weeks. I have been impressed with the farmers market since moving to Baton Rouge. They have a lot of local vendors and the fruits, veggies, meats and diary products are delicious!

We have enjoyed it so much that we decided to try a new routine. For the next two weeks, we are going to try and buy almost all of our groceries at the Farmers Market or at the local Fresh Pickins produce stand. We do have a few exceptions based on things that are not available at these locations like sandwich bread, tuna fish, specialty meats, jared’s banana and stawberry stoney fields yogurt and our protein bars. We will get all of these items from Whole Foods as usual.

We are excited to try this especially since we know that the groceries are so fresh and we are supporting local farms. Tomorrow is the first day and off to the farmers market we will go!
