i couldn’t say no

I made my first order on Etsy last week. I was so excited when it arrived!

Andy’s face got a little cracked during shipment but I’ve decided it adds character. I am thinking about doing a little shadow box and story for these guys. I’ll post more when I am finished!
first time

while kathleen was in town, we spent some time talking about future art projects. we discussed some of the artists we were really inspired by. one of those artists is lisa condgon. lisa does a lot of work with mixed media and shadowboxes. so we decided to take a stab at a shadow box. i finished my first one today. i am pretty happy with it but i did make some beginners mistakes. here are some pictures of the project completed. in the future, i’ll make allowance for how close the right side of the design got to the box frame. oh well, it looks good for my first try!
p.s. i’d love your feedback.

jedidiah’s novelties

On our fourth anniversary, we received a very special hand created card from my Mom and Dad. The card was made by a very talented artist, Sarah Moyar. Sarah is the creative mind behind her Kingwood based business, Jedidiah’s Novelties. Sarah has been a long time friend of our family and a talented artist. She makes all sorts of great, customized gifts and cards with mixed media and fabric. You can check out more of her designs on her website, Jedidiah’s Novelties and purchase some of her designs at her Etsy store. Here is a picture of the card we received.

Also, I finally used my Christmas Gift Certificate to purchase some fun items at See Jane Work. I opened them as soon as I got home on Friday. Here is a little peak.
